Terms of Service

i18n-keyless (i18n-keyless.com) is operated by Ambroselli.io, based in France ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the i18n-keyless service, the hosted plans and the self-hosted edition.

By creating an account, buying a self-hosted licence, or using the API with a project key, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

i18n-keyless is a "keyless" internationalisation service. Your application sends us the original text of a UI string (and, if you enable user-generated content, text written by your own end users), and our API translates it with a third-party AI provider — Mistral by default on the hosted service — and returns the translation. We store the source text, the translations and a token count for each string so repeat requests are served from cache.

The service is offered in two editions. The hosted edition runs on our infrastructure, billed as a monthly subscription per project through Stripe. The self-hosted edition is a Docker image you run on your own server, sold as a one-time lifetime licence checked offline: once installed, your self-hosted instance does not send your translation data to us.

Dashboard access uses an email and password, kept alive with a session cookie. Automated and agent access (through the MCP server) uses OAuth 2.1 tokens, each bound to one account and one project. You are responsible for keeping your credentials, API keys and licence keys confidential, and for all activity under your account.

On a self-hosted instance, the first account created becomes the instance administrator. Administrators can create projects and manage members; that is a matter between you and the people you invite, not something we control.

You may not use the service to submit content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have the right to share with a third-party AI provider for translation. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent its rate limits or licence checks, or resell hosted access without our agreement.

You keep all rights to the text you submit for translation and to the translations we return. You are responsible for having the right to submit that text — including any end-user content collected through the user-generated content feature — and for it not containing data you are not permitted to send to a third-party AI provider.

We do not claim ownership of your translations, and we do not use your submitted text to train our own models. Third-party AI providers process the text to produce a translation; see our Privacy Policy for how that processing works and who the providers are.

Hosted plans are billed in advance, per project, on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe. Stripe processes and stores your payment details; we keep only your Stripe customer identifier and billing email. You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing portal; cancellation pauses the project at the end of the paid period.

The self-hosted licence is a single, one-time payment of €30 for a lifetime licence to run the Docker image. It is not a subscription and is not automatically renewed or billed again.

When you self-host, your data — source texts, translations, accounts, everything in your database — stays on your own server. We never receive it. The only traffic your instance sends to us by default is anonymous error reports through Sentry, which you can disable by setting SENTRY_KEY=off. Your licence key is checked offline against a public signature and does not require your server to contact us to keep running.

Because we have no visibility into a self-hosted instance, we cannot support, back up or secure it for you: that is your responsibility as the operator.

We rely on third-party providers to operate the service: Stripe for payment processing, Sentry for error monitoring, an AI provider (Mistral by default, or the provider you configure) for generating translations, and a hosting provider (OVH Cloud) for the servers the hosted edition runs on. Their own terms and policies apply to the parts of the service they provide.

You may stop using the service, delete your account or stop paying for a subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms, non-payment on a hosted plan, or unlawful use. We will give notice where we reasonably can before doing so.

The service is provided "as is". Machine translation can be inaccurate, and you are responsible for reviewing translations before relying on them, especially for legal, medical or safety-critical content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent courts of France, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your own country of residence.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
